Planning a Vacation for Kids
Planning a vacation for kids is always an awesome task. As the needs and demands of children are different from adults, bringing them for a vacation needs much more careful planning. If you are bringing your kids for a vacation, here are some planning tips and ideas :
Flight Planning
1. If you are travelling with a small child below the age of two, some airlines do not recommended infants flying within the first seven days after birth unless approved by a medical officer.
2. Airlines do specify what are the approved car seats onboard for your child. The seat must be safely secured onto the aircraft passenger seat by the aircraft safety belt and must conform to all applicable safety standards certified for use in aircraft.
3. A limited number of bassinets are available onboard on a first-come, first-served basis. Different airlines have different bassinets sizes supporting different maximum weight.
4. Children’s meals are often provided. Requests for these meals should be made at the time of booking. Airlines may also provide other items such as disposable bibs, diapers, feeding bottles and baby wipes. Sometimes, baby food will be provided for an infant under two years.
Activities Planning
1. When you are planning a vacation, ask yourself what is the objective of this vacation ? Is the vacation meant for relaxation, for learning, for unique experiences or for fun ?
2. With the objective in mind, plan activities according to the interest of your kids.
3. Do not pack the day with many activities, which will exhaust the kids.
4. Expose your kids to new adventures, to learn new stuff or to acquire a new skill during the vacation.
5. As children tend to have shorter attention span, do not plan activities which are exceptionally long.
6. Ensure that the places which you are visiting are kids-friendly, as some attractions and activities may have age or height limitations.
7. Always find out what are the policies concerning children such as extra charges, half price or applicable child discounts.
8. If you are visiting attractions such as museums, consider if your child is able to understand the materials presented.
9. Always be flexible during your journey as children are likely to have different demands at different places.
10. Always visit the homepage of the attraction or activity-provider to find out if there are any family passes or discounts.
Accommodation Planning
1. Look for accommodation which is child-friendly. Usually, these accommodations will be able to provide baby cribs, roll away beds, adjoining rooms or baby sitting services.
2. If you are travelling on a budget, do consider family-friendly hostels. They provide great service as well. Otherwise, find hotels where kids stay free or hotels with free nights.
2. Do consider spending a night at the zoo. There are many zoos which offer zoo snooze programs. Their interesting activities may include night and morning tours of the zoo, live animal demonstrations, animal related activities and/or craft. Usually, snacks and breakfast will be provided.
3. Hotels with kid’s club are excellent as they could keep your kids occupied with fun activities while you can have a break.
Others
1. Encourage your children to write a journal for the trip or make a scrapbook to record their wonderful memories.
2. Don’t forget to find out where are some of the child-friendly restaurants and have a happy meal with your kids.
Have a happy and blessed vacation.

How to Celebrate Weddings and Anniversaries in Cross-Stitch
A wedding or anniversary is a time to celebrate and be joyful, but it can also be time to get creative and personal with your cross-stitch craft. A wedding is something the bride and groom will want to remember for the rest of their lives, so why not give something that comes from your heart so they can always have that special reminder. You can give them the gift on the wedding day or even years later on a special anniversary.
Make It Personal
When deciding to celebrate weddings and anniversaries in cross-stitch you can enjoy the ease with which you can personalize the craft. It is easy to add dates and names to just about any cross-stitch project. Find a design that represents their wedding day and add simple wording with their names and the date of the wedding. You can also add other information like where they were married or the children they have had over time.
Common Themes
Using the same theme and colors of the wedding is most popular when creating cross-stitch wedding gifts, however you are not limited to those colors or themes. Sometimes you can just use colors found in the home or office. If you are a skilled cross-stitch designer, you might be able to create a copy of the invitation into a cross-stitch design. One great theme for an anniversary gift is a family tree. After a couple has children and grandchildren, a cross-stitched family tree can bring a lot of joy and togetherness to a couple and their family… which of course becomes of an heirloom if so wished.
Project Ideas for Cross-stitched Wedding and Anniversary Gifts:
Framed Art
The family tree gift for an anniversary is a great idea for a framed art cross-stitch project. Offering the couple a piece of art that looks beautiful hung up on a wall is an excellent reminder of their special day.
Photo Album
Oftentimes the bride and groom end up with a lot of photos. You can create a handmade photo album by using your cross-stitched design on the front. This is also a good project for a couple’s anniversary, because they can put pictures they have taken together through the years in the pages of the scrapbook.
Sign-In Book
At the wedding or anniversary party, guests usually sign in on a guestbook. Instead of the couple having to buy a generic book at the store, why not create your own cover for the sign-in book using a personalized cross-stitch design.
Garter
“Something borrowed, something blue, something old, and something new” is an old traditions at weddings. You can create a garter from a cross stitch project making it much more personal to the couple.
Handkerchiefs
Another tradition at weddings is to offer the bride a handkerchief. You can find handkerchiefs to stitch on initials and the date of the wedding. They are also a nice gift to give to the groom.
Headband
Many brides wear a headband at either the ceremony or reception. You can use your cross-stitch skill to create an attractive cover for a headband.
Ring Pillow
The ring-bearer’s pillow is also a fun way to incorporate your cross-stitch ability into a wedding. You can stitch a beautiful wedding design onto the pillow that the ring bearer will use to carry the wedding rings to the altar.
Quilt
If you possess both the ability to cross-stitch and sew, this is an excellent keepsake for a wedding or anniversary gift. You can cross-stitch some squares to use on the quilt to make it personal and cozy.
Wall Hanging
Like the framed art, creating a wall-hanging is a nice way to remember the couple’s special day while having something nice to fill that empty space.
Keepsake Box
Every couple has items from their marriage that they want to keep in a safe place. There are keepsake boxes available that allow you to put your cross-stitch fabric across the top or in a frame on the top. These boxes are particularly useful for storing the smaller items retained from a wedding.
Cross stitching a gift for any anniversary, whether one year or seventy-five, is a great idea. Anniversaries come in many different forms, and there are numerous occasions, other than wedding anniversaries, which you can celebrate that are so special…
Buying your first home, recovering from a life threatening illness or finding remission from illness, becoming a mother, grand parent or a great grand parent, adopting a child, or winning an award through work or lifetime achievement are all days that too often go unnoticed and can warrant a special gift that really comes from the heart; a cross stitched personal piece of art.

Sometimes, we find it hard to choose what gifts we will give to a friend or colleague who will be having a baby. These are obviously inundated quite often during baby shower parties, and you’d like to give these items with more special effect. How will you that? Here are some awesome gift ideas for newborns to help you get started.

If you opt to make you own gift basket, you need to make it look outstanding as much as possible. Scrapbooking for Dummies: Benefits of Joining a Scrapbooking Club
Scrapbooking has been long introduced to bring out the artistic skills of most people. It was formally introduced in 1826 through the publication of the first how-to create a scrapbook in Germany. Since then, it has become part of history that eventually brought people together who share the same hobby.
Scrapbooking clubs started with friends and family members who enjoy creating these mini-albums. However, as scrapbooking became more popular, several organizations and clubs were introduced worldwide. Scrappers can join these clubs by simply locating their websites and register. Once registration has been completed, a scrapper will have access to forums, projects, and other scrappers’ profiles.
In choosing the best scrapbooking club, it is recommended to pick the one closest to the scrapper’s residence. These clubs are usually organizing get-togethers to meet the other members personally. It would be convenient for any scrapper to join the club nearest them.
These clubs organize social events to keep the people interested in scrapbooking. With these clubs, scrappers stay together and form friendship that starts with the love for scrapbooks. They also make sure that activities are filled with fun by engaging members to competition against each other that aims to encourage scrappers to create fine looking and quality scrapbooks.
The best part of joining these clubs is the opportunity in getting fresh ideas and meeting people that share the same passion.
Below are some of the benefits in joining a scrapbooking club:
1.Scrapbooking clubs let its members share their resources and knowledge for free.
2.Members find new friends they can talk to, not just about scrapbooks, but anything under the sun. There are life-long friendships that were built because of this hobby and they continue to increase.
3.Members, especially moms and teenage girls are excited because these clubs provide a girls night out. They see this as a break in their daily routine, letting them unwind and enjoy what they love doing with people who share the same passion for scrapbooks.
4.Most clubs hire professional scrapbookers as guest speakers to their workshops to teach members the latest and proven techniques. Speakers often provide materials that members have to pay for a small amount of money.
5.There are also scrapbooking clubs that are established to help non-government agencies in raising funds to help other people who are in need worldwide through selling hand made scrap books online or through garage sales.
Scrapbooking clubs bring people together not just to improve their skills and learn new techniques but more importantly form friendships and help others who are in need.

4 Scrapbooking Facts – Reasons People Adore This Hobby
1. Why scrapbooking?
Human beings are prone to sadistic attributes at times and with ease. Humans have the tendency to get hold of almost everything, even those having least value. There are people in everyone’s families who never step out without keeping up with their regular cameras for capturing every instance of circumstances. They prefer remembering each occasion with the picture to talk about. This is definitely not being funny. One can always maintain photos in an unusually memorable manner. The real world would want us to remember our memorable past with pictures being the best tool to be started upon.
2. People often do this
What do most people do with photos and pictures which mean a lot to them? Most often they are forgotten in some darkness of their rooms. They could as well be stuffed in boxes having accumulation of dust over them. Sometimes we have photos we love boasting about to people who care. In such cases, the pictures are often framed. But then the question arises as to what we would do to the rest of them in the album. It is wise for a person to keep the important stuff aside; else it could easily turn to be a regular stuff.
Luckily, there are innumerable suggestions on topics such as scrapbooking which would help in suggesting the best possible method to safeguard important memories. Your pictures would be ensured to be as they are; memorable.
3. Creative Scrapbooking
As you go about a creative photo album, you not just maintain your already taken snaps but also preserve the memories as well. There are many ideas which arise when a photo album is created which finally makes the album a lot more than a mere picture album. There are varied styles and patterns followed in scrapbooking. When things and ideas are mixed, we often get fascinating results. It is more fun in sharing stories of memorable incidents along with pictures and maintaining the same together in a scrapbook
4. Make the choice well
Many a time people go about grabbing more things than they can actually hold, as though they are more significant than can ever be. It often happens when newspaper cuttings are scrapped out. At some later point in time, one would wonder why the article was cut to be separated at all, in the first place. However in case of photo albums these things are not the same. Writing a story besides a picture or sticking up few stick-on would make lots of difference. Again, it would be a good idea to check for suggestions within your family. You can as well keep all the pictures and album where they ought to be unless the place catches fire.
Scrapbooking is undoubtedly an excellent idea. If you think you need assistance about the same, there are quite many books available hinting upon various styles.

The Best Auction This Christmas!
CHRISTMAS IS HERE!
We all know that Christmas is season to be happy, and a season for every family to be with each other, but we can’t ignore the fact that when the season comes we are expected to get gifts, and presents.
We are also expected to give gifts to our relatives and loved ones, but what if w can’t? What shall we do? I think that even before the season comes we had already set aside an allowance or a budget for gifts and stuff. Well I had my fair share of unpleasant Christmas time, because I wasn’t able to give presents to a family member. But that is not what Christmas is all about is it? It’s the time to be together with family members.
What are the things that are especially meant to be given at Christmas time?
Christmas is a time of joy, piece, and giving. It is also a time of being broke. Adults often think that the idea of making Christmas gifts is only for children who do not yet have their own money to buy gifts. However, with a little bit of ingenuity, some clever shopping, and a fair amount of free time, you can make some very grown up do it yourself Christmas gifts.
The first step is to spend an afternoon at a craft store, and see what sticks out at you as things you would be comfortable sitting down to work on. Some very basic, but very nice final product ideas include:
(1) Knit caps. If you have time to pick up crocheting or knitting, Christmas is a perfect time of year to put that talent to good use. You can make knit caps, mittens and scarves for men and women alike on your holiday shopping list. With all of the different available colors and textures in yarns today, it is virtually limitless what you can do to personalize a knitted gift. For some extra special fun, you can work in some fun beads fairly easily to jazz up a more basic design.
(2) Pick up some shadow box frames at the art store, and make some personal . For example, if you have someone on your list who is a big fan of Beethoven, you can create a shadowbox picture with some music notes in the background with a copy of a Beethoven songbook and maybe a dollhouse piano in the frame. Stuff like the dollhouse furniture as well as lots of great designs for backgrounds and the like can usually be found in the scrapbook section of your favorite craft store.
(3) Jewelry is a great personal do it yourself gift. There are all different skill levels for creating your own jewelry, and lots of different pieces that you can purchase to make your gift as professional looking and beautiful as you want. If you go to a good bead store, they will have lots of different settings on which to put earrings and a great selection of different and interesting beads for you to use. The best part though, is that they have expertise. With a little bit of help from the experts, you can make beautiful, one of a kind jewelry for less than a dollar a piece.
(4) Ornaments are a great way to celebrate the Christmas season. There are so many different ways to create your own unique ornaments, that you could make a different type of ornament for nearly everyone on your list. You could cross-stitch some ornaments, hand paint a box of regular glass ornaments, create egg shell ornaments with glitter or paint, make picture frame ornaments, bead Holiday shapes with pipe cleaners and pony beads, string some Hawaiian flowers for a funky tree garland, or just put a glittery hook on a plain ornament bulb. The best part about this gift, is that you get to see it every year on your loved one’s Christmas tree.

Scrap Your Trip
As I write this article, I am on my way home from a 10-day vacation. A wonderful time, relaxing yet filled with fun and educational things to do. In this article, I want to share with you some tips and ideas for scrapbooking your trip on what to do before and during your vacation to ensure a pleasurable scrapping experience for when you return.
Prior to leaving, have in mind what you want to accomplish. Do you want to document your vacation and incorporate it into your present album? Do you plan on creating a theme album, making the entire album about your vacation? You may always change your mind, but if you know prior you may take more or less photos.
Here are some ideas for during your vacation:
1. Save your ticket stubs. Use as an accent on your page or tuck into a pocket, mini envelope or file folder.
2. Save brochures, programs and other items to be used as embellishments or accents in your scrapbook.
3. Have a street map, map to the amusement park or any other kind of map? Maps tend to be large and would make a great background paper. You can also use for matting photos, page borders, or fold into a pocket or envelope. (use the map itself to create the pocket/envelope).
4. Can’t get the perfect photo? Weather or lighting not cooperating? Too many people? Whatever the reason may be, make sure you make a stop at the gift shop and look for postcards. Postcards are inexpensive, typically .25-.35, and offer beautiful glossy photos.
5. Start your journey with a large envelope or file folder. Keep maps and information about your possible destinations. After visiting, file your memorabilia there. This will keep everything together in one place and be ready for scrapbooking upon your trip home.
6. Immediately jot down funny stories, important events/happenings on the way home (from that days event) to keep the memories fresh. Again store in the same large envelope/folder.
7. Did you learn an interesting fact while touring? Be sure to document it. Whether in a photo or as journaling. Write it down and store away.
Upon your return, once you get back all your photos from the trip, look them over. Look for a common theme or color. Based on your findings, decide what papers and colors you want to use. Purchase or gather papers, embellishments, stickers or anything else you want or may need to include in your album. By using the same theme and colors of paper your vacation will be more unified into one theme. Plus this will ensure scrapping your entire trip much easier and quicker. Each page can have a different background yet coordinating. For each page, choose your photos, accents and embellishments from your trip or some you may have purchased with the papers. Add your journaling and then see what needs to be done to complete it. Now you have a completed album or pages to remember your vacation and to share with others.
Do you have extra photos from your vacation? Here are a few ideas on how to use those extra photos:
1. Ask all those involved in the vacation what there favorite part was. Create a top 5 or 10 page and use up the extra photos of the top favorites. Be sure to include a quick summary in the journaling.
2. Use extra photos and let the kids make their own vacation memory album.
3. Use extra photos to make a mini album of the vacation for someone who went along and may not be a scrapbooker themselves. What a great gift idea!
4. Mount an extra photo to a piece of cardstock and use as a thank you card to give to someone who may have taken care of your pets, mail or plants while you were away.
I hope the above tips will prepare you for your next vacation and help you “Scrap your Trip”!

Stay At Home Mom Small Business Ideas
Would be and will be, mom and dad, entrepreneurs are usually in a quandary as to what small home business ideas they should follow for possible long term commitments.
Unfortunately most start up small home businesses do not make it in the first six months of operations.
The reason for this is because their small home business idea is not workable in the real world when frequently they will look so good to us.
The secret here is to test them out on a small scale. Sort them out.
Another reason is they turn out to be too ambitious for their present circumstances.
You frequently will not have enough money to make it through this critical first six months.
In order to avoid the common pitfalls of small start up business, as much as possible, you should first take an inventory of available resources before embarking into any business.
This would be for a small or big enterprise.
Taking an inventory of your resources does not only mean financial resources but also other available resources such as talents, manpower, existing space in the house, equipment, available software and the like.
There are many small home business ideas that are very feasible depending on your present financial, reality based and knowledge circumstances.
This is why taking an inventory of your present resources will greatly affect the outcome of your small business venture. Let us narrow down our list of small home business ideas, let us focus on five areas where a stay at home mom could engage.
First, cooking is usually the forte of stay at home moms so let us explore the possibilities of a home based food business. If you live in a neighborhood full of busy people who do not have time to cook their own meal, you could get busy in the kitchen and cook for your neighbors.
Men will look at something like this and say, no way, that just will not work. Women, for some reason, will be more open to something like this which is good for them because their mindset can make it work.
Many people take lunch boxes to work and these lunch boxes usually contain sandwiches day in and day out. Most of us would welcome a variation in our lunch especially if these variations are home cooked. Sound good already? Good! Let us keep going.
Offering some tasty and delicious food packed in lunch boxes which people could pick up from your place on their way to work should be a good idea.
For your customers it will get to be an unbreakable habit real fast.
For creative stay at home moms, a small home business idea such as scrapbook making and handicrafts would be good for you.
scrapbook making services could be profitable. A lot of people would like to put their pictures in nicely designed folders but never have the time to do so.
Professional athletes are a great target market for this.
They do not like to read articles about themselves in the papers everyday, during their careers, because it is very distracting to their mind sets.
They wish they had a service like this after their careers are over. That is too late.
There are thousands of professional athletes, men and women both, who would be glad to let somebody do the work for them for a fee.
Another option for you if you are artistic and really love handicraft is to design greeting cards.
Assembling greeting cards is really fun and many people would love to get a card made specifically for themselves.
You can even get your kids to help along by handing you over some colored papers and tapes. This small home business idea could be a very interesting activity for you and your children.
Handmade greeting cards are usually in demand during big occasions like mothers day, fathers day, Christmas, New Years and others.
You can expect to get big orders at this time of the year so it would be better to start making those cards well ahead of time to beat the demand.

4 Tips On How To Add Some Pizzazz To Your Disney Scrapbook
Adding some pizzazz to your Disney Scrapbook need not be a hard thing just some creative thought. With these four tips you will be well on your way to creating a stunning Disney scrapbook
Tip Number 1 – Create It Yourself
Create your own unique stencil or mask. Choose a design or character that you love and draw or trace it onto a piece of clear acetate or thick cardboard. Then carefully cut the design out, be sure that when you are cutting you are keeping the edges smooth. When you have finished cutting the design out push out the image and there you have it your own personal stencil. Use spray or acrylic paint, dye or ink to transfer the image onto your layout.
Tip Number 2 – Print and Stick
By printing letters straight onto adhesive backed paper you can take all the hard work out of adhering hand-cut letters and titles to your Disney layout. Once the letters or titles have been printed, cut them out as per usual by peeling off the backing and stick the letters directly on your layout. You can purchase adhesive backed papers or labels from computer stores or stationery stores and they come in a large selection of sizes and colors’.
Tip Number 3 – Print and Scratch
Transfers are a great way to add some detail to your pages, you can create your own rub-ons and use them over and over again! You just need transparency paper, an inkjet printer and a popsicle stick and you are on your way. Insert the transparency into your inkjet printer, so that it prints on the smooth side of the transparency, have the text/image you want to have as a rub on ready to print from your computer. Format your printer settings so that it is set to print on “plain paper”, “best quality” and “mirror image” (the image needs to be reversed especially if you are printing text or it will appear backwards). And then print. Let it dry for about 3-5 minutes, careful not to touch it. Place the transparency smooth side down onto your Disney scrapbook page precisely where you want the image/text to appear, holding firmly in place, and rub with a popsicle stick just like you would any other rub on. Don’t be afraid to push to hard, and make sure you rub the entire image. Carefully take away the transparency and let ink completely dry before touching. Use a damp cloth or paper towel to clean off your transparency to prepare it for your next rub-on, you can re-use the transparency over and over and over again.
Tip Number 4 – Cutting costs
Trying to keep up with the latest trends in scrapbooking can be expensive. You can save some money by visiting your local hardware store or discount store to find some great bargains. In your local hardware store you can find great little trinkets such as name plates, key ring holders and brass rings just to name a few items. Discount stores have now caught onto the craze of scrapbooking as well and stock some interesting products that can add some fun to your Disney scrapbook page.
Creating a stunning scrapbook does not mean you need to break the bank, with the top four ideas you will be on your way to creating memorable scrapbooks that will last a life time.
